De Kindertelefoon is available for all children and young people aged 8 to 18 who want to talk in confidence. Every child that contacts us, gets our time and attention to tell his or her story. Sometimes it’s very crowded, so we can’t help everyone. That is why we think it is important that you, when you call us, do this in order to talk to us about a question or problem. In order to be able to listen carefully, we use a number of rules. These are the rules to talk with us:
- you call or chat to ask for something, discuss a problem or share something
- you speak intelligibly
- it is quiet around you
- you have your attention during the conversation and respond to our questions
- you are friendly
Your contact details are not visible to us. Conversations with De Kindertelefoon are 100% confidential. That means that we do not tell anyone what you tell us, except if you allow us. We do not know who you are and you do not have to tell us either. Your telephone bill does not state that you have called us and we can not see your telephone number or internet address. However, we can see if and how often contact with De Kindertelefoon was made with your telephone number or internet address. Do you want to know more about privacy? Check our privacy statements.
